So when I went to renovate the kitchen, we were moving it from one room in the house to another, we were faced with the prospect of demolishing the old one. Rather than simply rip and tear and destroy, we decided it would be a better idea if we went a little more carefully and salvage some of the furniture for resale.
Removing the kitchen doors, for example, were in pretty good nick although they wouldn’t be appropriate for our new kitchen they would surely look fine for someone else. So we took a bit of care in removing the doors and put them aside to sell, it was going to help us stay under our budget for the project which was a nice little bonus.
It pays to be just a little circumspect when it comes to doing the demolition part of a renovation, check what you may be able to use again or, failing that, sell to someone else.
